I know. Still too many Evo/GT-R clone cars and many were carried over unchanged from GT4. I know Polyphony is based in Japan and all, but it would be nice for them to pare down the clone cars and add some more cars from other parts of the world. Some of the more glaringly obvious omissions include any Fox-chassis car (aside from the "New Edge" Mustangs), any E30s/36s, and the Genesis Coupe.

Am I blind? Or do they STILL have no first gen RX-7 in the game? No Lotus Seven/Caterham except for the Fireblade...which I'm betting is just a straight drop in from GT4 (Can you atleast race with it now?).

STILL lacking a First Gen Escort which was HUGE is rally, nor a Second Gen, not even a Capri. STILL lacking a First Gen celica liftback, and COMPLERELY missing the second and third gen Celicas. First Gen Supra? GT5 believes it never existed? How about a Suzuki Swift GT?

Yet I count 21 different versions of the FD, not counting race versions. How many versions of the R34 and R35 Skyline do we really need? Evo's? Gah

It took them THIS long to bring this out, and almost all of the cars are just ported over from GT4? Not only that, but they couldn't be assed to fill in glaring gaps of car lineage?

Fail.

The Toyota list is 100% identical to GT4 unless i'm missing something.

They have the Scion xA and xB, but not the tC? REALLY?

No 1st gen RX7.

No Escorts. No early Proteges.

No BMWs that i care about.

Oh. And can i PLEASE HAVE THE DAMN COSMO?

wooooo.....>1000 cars.... yayyy....

too bad there are 28 miatas, 12 mistu 3000gt's, 30 skylines, 23 Imprezas, and the ridiculousness goes on.... Of course, none of these numbers count the sweet drifting versions of all of these cars, that are listed by other names. Oh, and a zillion concept cars i don't remember/care about.

Compare that to: Zero Porsches, no e30 m3, only that 1 Lotus 7 from gt4...

I'm not just trying to focus on the negative, but I agree with CelicaGT2 that the list looks identical to GT4, with a few newer add-ins. I'll give the game a full shot, but honestly I haven't seen one reason why this game will be better than Forza 3, and more than a few why it might be worse.

'bout time! Unlike you guys, i'm not too down about the heavy japanese car skewing, but only because i 110% expected that. Also, where are you guys finding the car list?

Edit: i do have 1 small problem... I reserved it at game stop wehn i was a junior in college, in WI. Now i'm a grad student in MA... hmmm... it sure has been a while...

I am getting a PS3 just for this game. I hope it is more fun than GT3. I've never played Forza - my son has an xbox but the fan is so loud I don't like being in the same room as it when it is turned on...it sounds like a hair dryer is in the box.

The GT games always had a JDM biased car list. Even GT1 and GT2 had more skyline than you could shake a stick at. And I shake my stick at things alot.

Yeah, i guess the good thing is that now that everything is all linked online and stuff, maybe we'll get car packs later? That'd be cool.

Pick up Call of Duty: World at War. The Zombie mode is infinitely entertaining. Red Dead Redemption also.

These will soothe your massive irritation at having bought a whole console for such a huge disappointment as the Gran Turismo franchise.

Car packs would be awesome, but i don't know if i want their team working on that instead of GT6. I'd rather have GT6 before my non-existant kids turn 30. On the other hand, i'd buy all the car packs they make, So maybe they could hire a few more programmers?

On a side note, I too stick with playstation because of the GT franchise. Otherwise i'd just get a Wii, because i think those games are more fun, despite the cheezyness. There plenty of good PS3 games other than GT, but most of those are also PC games and work better as such IMO.

ok i found one on GTplanet that claims there is a cosmo (old one): http://www.gtplanet.net/gran-turismo-5-official-car-list/ The cosmo was on GT PSP so i figured it should be in GT5 because they claimed you could transfer the cars from psp to ps3 when gt5 came out. But why no 1st gen RX7? that does make me sad. But look at all of those miatas! That should count for something eh? GT5 spec miata series? eh?

Yeah, it's the old Cosmo. I think it was in GT4 as well.

I want the new one with twin turbo 3-rotor goodness.

My worry is that Polyphony announces a car pack and never releases it (Forzalopnik, anyone?). Still, maybe GRM should contact Polyphony and maybe have a GRM/Classic Motorsports car pack going?

So, include a spec miata racer, a few P71's, a few E30's including a spec e30, and E36 M3, and the winners from the various challanges? I'd go for that

What the?! that better not be accurate. Also the more i learn about Forza, the more i wish i had the money for a 360.. It won't stop me from GT5, though.

Edit: on second thought, I want to be able the change the wheels on every car, but i'd also like wheel fitment changes. What if i want wider wheels? And while i'm racing, i'm not lookin at the wheels anyway. Still, it'd be nice if this option were at least available like GT3 and GT4. hopin for a patch.
